Prospects for integrated photonics in space applications
International Quantum Electronics Conference and Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Pacific Rim (August 28 - September 1, 2011 : Sydney)
Proceedings of the International Quantum Electronics Conference and Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics (Pacific Rim IQEC/CLEO 2011) incorporating ACOLS and ACOFT, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 28 August - 01 September 2011, p.1925-1927
Integrated photonics is a promising technology platform for use in space based environments. In this paper we explore the effects of space-like conditions, including temperature, pressure, and exposure to x-rays and gamma rays, on waveguides fabricated in glass by the femtosecond laser direct write technique.
